Equestrian Connection has now grown to serve over 220 individuals weekly and works in conjunction with numerous community and academic based organizations that serve those with disabilities.
These organizations include special education school districts, special recreational therapy organizations, the Rehab Institute of Chicago, Children's Hospital and many adult and teen organizations.
There is no other therapeutic horseback riding program in the country that addresses the vast range of needs that we do and provides the wide range of services.
Our vision is to continue to improve the quality of life of those with disabilities, emotional illness and paralysis,
by providing services that fill voids and address unmet needs with the use of highly trained horses, skilled and experience therapists and an understanding pool of volunteers.
We work closely with volunteer agencies in our area as well as schools, churches and other riding facilities to cover our volunteer needs. Most often our volunteers gain as much as those we care for.
We have recently branched into equine assisted psychotherapy and wish to broaden our adult base since the state of Illinois is last in the nation for providing services to this group.
We believe every individual has the right to get services no matter their emotional, physical or mental capacity in order to be the best they can be.
