APPLE ANNIE

Apple Annie is a 15 hand chestnut quarter horse. She was trained by our equine director, Sally, in dressage, jumping and vaulting. This year, Sally decided that she would be a great therapy horse and brought her to help the riders at EC. She is a wonderful addition to our family and Molly’s best friend.

BAYLO

Breed: Morab

Age: 14

Sex: Gelding

Baylo came to us winter 2009 from a wonderful EC family. His movement is forward and full of energy so he is perfect for riders who need a lively stride. Although he is the same breed as Nova, Baylo is shorter and much quicker. He’s a fantastic horse with a curious and friendly personality – a favorite of our independent riders.

BENNY

Breed: Welsh Pony

Age: 17

Sex: Gelding

As cute as his next door neighbor, Buster, this pony is known for his dusty mane and dark coat. A great guy all around, Benny is used for both therapy and independent rides and spends his time off playing with the pony herd. He’s often confused for Buster but he’ll be quick to remind you that he’s the younger (and cuter) of the two!

BOBO

Breed: Palomino

Age: 16

Sex: Gelding

Bobo has quickly become a favorite independent riding horse and loves all his riders. Donated by the Domitrovich family he has the strength and demeanor of a great therapy horse. He is the only palomino in the barn and complimented for his beautiful coat.

BUBBLES

Breed: Pinto Pony

Age: 16

Sex: Gelding

As cute as his name, Bubbles is a great pony for the very young clients at EC. Perfect for therapy rides with his steady stride and quiet disposition, this little guy is well loved here. Sweet natured and always attentive, Bubbles is worth twice his weight in gold!

BUBBLES

Breed: Welsh Pony

Like Benny, Buster is another member of the pony herd and can be seen playing with his friends in turnout. When he isn’t chasing MJ this pony can be found giving independent and therapy rides alike. With his sturdy build and steady stride he’s a great mount for younger riders.

COOPER

Breed: Thoroughbred

Age: 17

Sex: Gelding

After being rescued off the track Cooper has become a favorite of many riders learning to ride independently. He loves his neighbor, Nova, though they constantly compete for most handsome horse in the barn!

KIERAY

Breed: Hungarian Warmblood

Age: 10

Sex: Gelding

Kieray’s Hungarian breeding gives him his impressive size and strength. He is the tallest horse in the barn standing at 17 hh! He is known for his calm, friendly disposition, which makes him perfect for the program as he gets ready to take on riders of all size!

MILKY

Breed: Pony

Age: 20

Miss Milky is as sweet as they come! There is nothing that fazes this great sized pony and she is a favorite of many of our therapists. She is also a fantastic for independent riders when she isn’t hanging out with her buddy, Shiloh.

MJ

8 year old MJ has grown up at EC and become a favorite of therapists. With his black coat he looks like a pint-sized Black Beauty. His turnout buddies, Buster, Benny and the other ponies might argue his sweetness, but not the children at EC who love him so!

MOLLY

Molly is a fantastic horse all around with her calm disposition and patience. She is a smooth ride for therapy and independent rides both. When she isn’t giving rides she spends her time with the herd of mares, including her best friend, Annie.

NOVA

Breed: Morab

Age: 12

Sex: Gelding

Nova's Morgan/ Arabian mix gives him his great looks and tough demeanor. Underneath that toughness, however, is a great horse for riders of many levels. When he isn’t taking care of EC riders he’s hanging out with his buddy, Cooper. We will let him keep thinking he is King of the Barn!

OREO

As sweet as the cookie he is named after, Oreo was a high ranking show pony in his day! Here at EC he is loved for his awesome personality and great forward movement, which is useful for therapy riders. Oreo is also wonderful for independent riders.

PENNY

Breed: Mini Pinto

She may be a mini but Penny can certainly hold her own! Having grown up as a cart puller, this little girl has been a great companion to many of our riders. She is fantastic for our grooming sessions and loves the walks she is taken on as we empower our riders to lead her along!

PEPPER

Named for his freckles, Pepper is an all around great pony. He is loved for his gentle nature, steadiness and ability to handle riders of all levels, from those working on balance and strength to those learning to ride on their own. This Appaloosa has helped many riders and is among our “senior” equine staff.

RITCHIE-O

Named after a donor of EC, Ritchie is well loved for his friendliness and calm disposition. His steady gait and willingness to work makes him a favorite for independent riders. When he isn’t teaching beginners how to rider Ritchie loves hanging out and chasing little Thunder in turnout.

ROSIE

The newest addition to the EC family, Rosie was a cart pony before she came to us. Having passed her therapy training with flying colors, this Quarter Pony has become a favorite of therapists for her patience and willingness to work.

SANTANA

Santana is a Norwegian Fjord mare. Known for their strength and size, Fjords make wonderful therapy horses. She came to us to work with our new adult programs and to make everyone smile! She is a lovable girl with a big personality.

SHILOH

Fondly known as the "matriarch" of the barn, Shiloh was one of the first EC horses! Her kind eye tells it all as she welcomes those who need that extra understanding. Her patience, grace and beauty make her a favorite at EC! Walk down the aisle and you’ll surely see her head poking out to greet you.

THUNDER

A former show pony, Thunder is a great lesson horse for beginner and advanced riders alike. He is slowly working his way into therapy rides as he gains the experience in the program.
